Sunday October 27 5-9 pm No cover charge The Bamboo Room, 25 S J St., Lake Worth

This concert brings together some of south Florida's finest musicians to celebrate the memory of Ron Johnston, a devoted lover of music. Big Brass Bed began at the Bamboo Room twenty years ago as a Bob Dylan cover band; today, with original members Rod MacDonald and drummer Bill Meredith, plus guitarist Mario LaCasse, bassist Doug Lindsay, and keyboardist Brad Keller, the group performs songs by Dylan and other great songwriters, as well as MacDonald's originals. Big Brass Bed, an electric band, was named Best Folk Artists of 2016 by New Times. Rod MacDonald is a veteran of the Greenwich Village music scene in New York, where he recorded 21 songs for the Smithsonian collection and the first of his 14 cds. Now living in south Florida, he's been named Best Local Acoustic Artist by New Times and one of "Ten Magnificent Musicians of Palm Beach County: by the Palm Beach Post. Robert Ross is a two-time winner of the New York Music Awards as Best Blues Artist, who now lives in south Florida, working solo and with the Robert Ross Band in area clubs. Bob Lind's songs, including his 1967 Top-5 hit "Elusive Butterfly Of Love," have been recorded by more than 200 artists, including Aretha Franklin, Glen Campbell, Eric Clapton, Cher, The Four Tops, Petula Clark, Richie Havens, Marianne Faithfull, Kingston Trio, Dolly Parton, Johnny Mathis and Nancy Sinatra. In 2013 Bob was inducted into The Colorado Music Hall Of Fame, and in 2024 he was the closing act of the South Florida Folk Festival.
